Aura R70 Laptop: New Professional Gaming Laptop with Santa Rosa from Samsung

The glossy black 15.4"Aura R70 is a new professional gaming laptop was revealed in Korea by Samsung. Like Asus G1S, It comes with Santa Rosa platform, new Intel core 2 Due processor and new NVIDIA GeForce 8000 series graphics which are new powerful graphics card for the laptop computers and can provide DirectX 10 and high-definition video capabilities for next generation gaming and multimedia laptop notebooks.

Unfortunately this laptop lacks two features of Santa Rosa: Turbo Memory (fast cache memory that allows Windows Vista to operate far faster) and wireless draft-n Wi-Fi.

For understanding the importance of turbo memory I am quoting you the test that trust review has done:

To get a basic idea of what Turbo Memory could bring to a notebook like the R70, I ran PC Mark, then plugged a very fast USB key in, set it as a ReadyBoost device and ran PC Mark a second time. With 1GB of fast USB flash memory set up as a ReadyBoost partition the PC Mark hard disk score jumped from 3379 to 4838! Add to this the fact that the Turbo Memory module will be far faster than a USB device and it’s clear that this will be a killer feature on future machines.

Aura R70 Laptop comes with lower performance components (like lower end of Intel’s latest Core 2 Duo and lower NVIDIA GeForce 8400M) than Asus G1S and it is cheaper. In the UK, it will go for $1399, tax included. It is really affordable and price that make this laptop attractive for many professional gamers too.
